Les Miserables is blaring its big voices at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre through June 23. Taking a break from his super-charged vocals as Jean Valjean in the national tour, Peter Lockyer stopped by BT Vancouver to talk about starring in the epic musical. Featuring a soaring score by Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil and Herbert Kretzmer, Les Miz tells the story of former convict Valjean’s decades-long journey to find love and redemption. Watch the video below to hear what Lockyer thinks has made the show a hit for nearly 30 years and why acting on stage in Les Miz makes him an athlete. The national tour will march its way to Calgary next, playing the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium from June 25 through July 7.
