In the hit stage musical Mary Poppins, the titular nanny flies over the audience with ease. However, adapting the classic character for a Broadway musical wasn’t as easy. In this behind-the-scenes video, famed Les Miserables producer Cameron Mackintosh and Disney producer Thomas Schumacher reveal the challenges they faced in putting Mary and the Banks family on stage. Richard M. Sherman, the Oscar-winning composer of the film’s famous songs, even makes an appearance to discuss the new songs that were added for the stage spectacular.
